Roundtables for HR conferences

HR people come to conferences to compare notes with peers who face the same problems. A well run roundtable is where that happens. We help you run the roundtable block at your HR conference so every table has a topic people voted for, a leader trained to run it, and takeaways captured before people leave.

Why roundtables fit HR events

The questions HR leaders bring are practical: how other companies handle the same hire, the same policy, the same hard conversation. A table of 8 to 10 peers, a trained leader and a 30 to 40 minute round gives those questions room. HR conferences also draw HR tech, benefits and payroll sponsors, and a hosted table gives them a conversation instead of a booth visit.

Example topics

These are examples only. Your attendees vote on the real list, and you approve it.

  • Keeping new hires past 90 days
  • Using AI in recruiting without losing trust
  • Making performance reviews worth the time
  • Managing a team split between office and home
  • Helping employees use the benefits they have
  • Training first time managers

Off limits: wages, salary ranges, benefits costs, prices and fees between competitors. Table leaders steer the talk back if it drifts there.

Who does what

  • We: run the topic poll, train your table leaders twice before the event and again for 15 minutes onsite, give every leader a one page table script, set up capture, and write the report.
  • You: approve the topics, pick the leaders from your speakers and members, and give the roundtable block a place in your program.

What you get

  • Trained table leaders with a one page script, so every table starts on time and everyone gets to speak.
  • Capture at every table: one QR code per table where attendees share their main takeaway and one action they plan to take.
  • The report: about 10 days later, themes, counts and unnamed quotes from those takeaways, organized by topic. No group smaller than five people is ever shown on its own.
  • Follow up: attendees hear back about what their table came up with.

See a sample report. It is built from a mock event to show the format.

For HR conference sponsors

A hosted table puts your team in a real conversation with HR leaders who chose the topic. Your reps can sit at a table and join the conversation. They do not lead it and they do not pitch. You hear from an attendee only if they tick a box asking to hear from you. We never hand over the attendee list.
